Why Timer Owl
- Rings on time in a background tab. Most web timers go quiet or late when you switch tabs. This one schedules the alarm the moment you press Start.
- Doesn't drift. It counts against the real clock, not ticks.
- Readable from across the room. A big ring and digits, full screen with one key, light and dark mode.
- No sign-up, no clutter. Nothing to install. Settings stay in your browser.
Questions
How do I set the timer?
Type hours, minutes and seconds into the boxes, or tap a preset, then press Start (or the space bar).
Will the alarm go off if I switch to another tab?
Yes. When you press Start, Timer Owl schedules the alarm on your device's audio clock, so it plays on time even when the tab is in the background and the browser slows down page scripts. Keep the tab open and your volume on.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. On phones the browser may pause sound once the screen locks, so Timer Owl asks your phone to keep the screen awake while a timer runs. Plug in for long timers.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Completely free, no account, nothing to install. Your sound and volume choices are saved in your own browser.
Can I run a timer in full screen for a class or meeting?
Press Full screen (or F). The clock fills the screen and the settings hide. The classroom timer is built for projectors.
